How the results are calculated

Mass = area × consumption (kg/m²) × layers. Alternatively, consumption can be derived as plaster type × thickness (mm). Bags = ceil(mass ÷ bag size).

How to use this calculator

How should I read plaster consumption from the packaging?

Manufacturers usually provide an estimated consumption in kg/m² for a given layer thickness. The safest option is to enter that exact value into the calculator instead of guessing.

Is one layer always enough?

No. If the substrate is uneven or you want a better finish before painting, two layers or additional touch-ups are often needed.

Why is the result shown in kilograms and bags?

Because kilograms show the actual material requirement, while bags show the real purchase decision. In practice, you order full bags, not exactly 50.4 kg.

Is the ceiling calculated the same way as walls?

Yes, the math is the same: area multiplied by unit consumption. The practical difference is that ceilings are usually harder to apply evenly, so a small extra margin can be useful.

Is it worth keeping some extra material?

Yes. A small reserve is practical because some material is always lost on tools, mixing buckets, and final corrections.

What can make real usage higher than the theoretical result?

Uneven substrate, a thicker layer, absorbent surfaces, and local repairs. The calculator gives a strong planning estimate, but it does not replace the manufacturer’s technical sheet.
