The other way, you multiply Celsius by 9/5 and add 32. 0 °C is 32 °F. 100 °C is 212 °F. −40 is the same point on both scales.

The “double and subtract 30” shortcut is close at room temperature and wrong in an oven.

Frost below 32 °F gives a negative Celsius result. That is a valid result. Below −273.15 °C the calculator does not accept the value.
