Fare is start fee plus distance times rate plus waiting minutes times the per-minute rate. 12 × 3 + 8 = 44. The same ride with 10 minutes at 0.5 is 49. 25 km at 2.5 per km, start 10, and 5 minutes at 0.6 is 75.50. 8 km with start 8 and 3 per km and no wait is 32.
On a longer hop the per-kilometer rate dominates: an 18 km airport run at 2.8, start 10, and 8 minutes at 0.5 is 64.4. A 4 km downtown hop at 3 and start 8 is 20. A night 12 km at start 12 and 3.5 per km is 54 if you type that rate; the calculator does not add night by itself.
Fields are distance, rate per km, start fee, waiting time, and rate per minute. Waiting is optional. The US header relabels distance and rate to per mile. A typed 12 is not multiplied by 0.621. A comma in 2.5 and 0.5 parses.
Driving yourself lives on trip fuel cost from economy and pump price. There is no L/100 km here. Compare two tariffs by changing the rate or the start and running again.
Typed zero kilometers leaves the start fee alone if a start is typed. Blank distance does not fill 12 from the example. A minus is rejected. The result is an estimate from the tariff you typed, not a meter confirmation.
