How the results are calculated

Fuel in US units: gallons = miles ÷ mpg, then times price. 12,000 / 28 × 3.20 ≈ 1,371.43. Metric: liters = (km ÷ 100) × L/100 km, times price per liter. You then add service, insurance, tires, monthly parking × 12, and annual tax.

Example 1: 12,000 miles, 28 mpg, 3.20, service 600, insurance 1,200, tires 200, parking 30 a month, tax 150 totals 3,881.43, or 323.45 a month and 0.3235 per mile. Fuel is about 35.3%, insurance 30.9%. Example 2 at 5,000 miles falls to 2,640 but 0.5280 per mile, because the fixed lines do not shrink.

At 25,000 miles, 24 mpg and the same 3.20 plus higher fixed lines you get 6,163.33, with fuel at about 54.1% of the total and 0.2465 per mile. Fields are annual mileage, fuel economy, price, service, insurance, tires, parking / wash, and tax / registration. Parking is monthly; the rest are yearly.

The metric header relabels mileage to kilometers and economy to L/100 km. A typed 12,000 is not rewritten as kilometers. A comma in 3.20 and 6.39 parses. Third-party and comprehensive insurance go in as one yearly amount; this form does not price them.

One trip lives on trip fuel cost. Receipts ÷ mileage live on cost per km. TCO adds purchase, a payment, and value loss. There is no car price here. Blank mileage does not fill 12,000 from the example. Zero mileage leaves the fixed lines with no fuel.

Do pump prices update themselves?

No. You type 3.20 or 6.39. The station does not connect to this page.
