How it works

The calculator looks for a reduced fraction. 0.75 is 3/4, because 75/100 reduces by 25. 0.2 is 1/5.

2.5 is 5/2. The mixed form 2 1/2 appears beside it when the numerator is larger than the denominator.

Zero gives 0/1. A whole number, for example 4, gives 4/1.

Adding 1/2 + 1/3 is on the fraction calculator. The fractional part of 3.25 is 0.25 and is on a different page.

A comma and a period give the same fraction. 0,75 and 0.75 are 3/4.

The calculator searches for a fraction with a denominator of at most 10,000. This is not money rounding.
