How does it work?

A percent of a number is a hundredths slice of the whole. “p% of n” is (p ÷ 100) × n. 15% of 200 is 0.15 × 200 = 30. 20% of 150 is 0.2 × 150 = 30. 12.5% of 80 is one eighth, so 10.

People open this calculator for a discount, VAT, or a share of a group. 15 of two hundred is an amount, not a year-to-year change. If an old salary is 5000 and the new one is 5750, that is percentage change: plus 15%, a different card with two value fields.

The form has two fields: Number and Percent (%). Type 200 and 15, click Calculate, and you get 30. You do not need a % in the second field. A comma and a period are the same, so 12.5 can be 12,5. A fractional or negative percent also works: minus 10% of 200 is −20.

You already know the percent and the number; you want the amount. There you hunt for p; here you already know p and n. A 3:2 ratio and the rule of three are separate: those scale pairs. Here you only take hundredths of one number.

Without Number or Percent, nothing computes. Typed 0 in Number gives 0, because zero times anything stays zero. The header money label stays out of the product. 15% of 200 is 30 in zloty or dollars.
