Percentiles

Type a value, a percentile, and an optional baseline. p95 and 50 give p95: wartość ≤ 50,00 ms. p99 and 120 give p99: wartość ≤ 120,00 ms. p50 and 12.5 give p50: wartość ≤ 12,50 ms. JS fields, not a sample list.

The fields the JS expects: p-val, p-pct, and optional p-baseline. The calculator does not compute a percentile from a sample list. The c limit sits on latency vs distance.

How it works

Percentiles in this calculator label a typed latency value. p95 and 50 give p95: wartość ≤ 50,00 ms. p99 and 120 give p99: wartość ≤ 120,00 ms. p50 and 12.5 give p50: wartość ≤ 12,50 ms. JS expects p-val, p-pct, and an optional baseline. This is not a percentile from a sample list.

Field p-val is the value. Field p-pct is 50, 95, or 99. Field p-baseline in the first two examples is 40 and 80. The primary stays a pN plus value template. The calculator does not sort a series and does not read a histogram.

50,00 ms does not come from APM. 120,00 ms is not p99 from Prometheus. 12,50 ms is not a median from logs. You type a number you already have. Without the JS field list there is nothing to compute.

Latency vs distance next door divides km by c. Error budget counts minutes from an SLO. Here 50 and 95 stay p95: wartość ≤ 50,00 ms, a field label only.

Type 50 and 95, then Calculate. The result is p95: wartość ≤ 50,00 ms. A comma in 12,5 works. Blank p-val is a field error. This is not a sample list.

p95 and 50 give p95: wartość ≤ 50,00 ms. p99 and 120 give 120,00 ms. p50 and 12.5 give 12,50 ms. Another percentile at 50 changes the pN label.

Formula

result = p{p-pct}: wartość ≤ {p-val} ms. The JS field list, not a percentile from samples.

How to use

  1. Type value 50 and percentile 95.
  2. Click Calculate. The result is p95: wartość ≤ 50,00 ms.
  3. 120 and 99 give p99: wartość ≤ 120,00 ms. 12.5 and 50 give p50: wartość ≤ 12,50 ms.
  4. JS fields, not a percentile from a sample list.
  5. The km over c limit sits on latency vs distance.

p95 and 50 ms = p95: wartość ≤ 50,00 ms

JS fields, not a sample list. p95 and 50 give p95: wartość ≤ 50,00 ms.

Percentiles
A pN label from p-pct. 95 leaves p95: wartość ≤ 50,00 ms. Not a series.
value
Field p-val. 120 at p99 gives 120,00 ms. A typed number, not APM.
baseline
Optional p-baseline. 40 at p95, 80 at p99. The result stays the value label.

Examples

Example 1

  • value 50
  • p95
  • baseline 40

p95: wartość ≤ 50,00 ms

What label at 50 ms and p95? p95: wartość ≤ 50,00 ms. JS fields, not a sample list.

Example 2

  • value 120
  • p99
  • baseline 80

p99: wartość ≤ 120,00 ms

What label at 120 ms and p99? p99: wartość ≤ 120,00 ms.

Example 3

  • value 12.5
  • p50

p50: wartość ≤ 12,50 ms

What label at 12.5 ms and p50? p50: wartość ≤ 12,50 ms.

Common questions

What label at 50 ms and p95?

p95: wartość ≤ 50,00 ms. JS fields, not a sample list.

What about 120 ms and p99?

p99: wartość ≤ 120,00 ms.

What about 12.5 ms and p50?

p50: wartość ≤ 12,50 ms.

Does the calculator compute a percentile from a list?

No. JS expects p-val and p-pct. It does not sort samples.

Why baseline?

Optional p-baseline for a comparison. The result still stays pN plus the value.

Does a comma in 12,5 work?

Yes. 12,5 and 50 give p50: wartość ≤ 12,50 ms.

Where does 50 ms come from?

From APM or a histogram outside this calculator. Here you paste an already computed pN.

Where do I time km over c?

On latency vs distance. Here the 50 ms p95 label stays.

Does blank p-val count?

No. Without a value and a percentile the calculator stops.
