How it works

Yoga calories take a MET from the list, mass, and minutes. The formula is MET × kg × hours. The default typical session is 2.5 MET. Seventy kilograms and 60 minutes at 2.5 give 175. The same 70 kg and 45 minutes give 131.25, 131 on the page. Hatha 2.3 MET at 80 kg and an hour gives 184. Power 4 MET at 70 kg and an hour gives 280. Pose names are not fields.

People land here hoping the mat will match a bike ride. At 2.5 MET it will not. Sixty kilograms and 90 minutes at 2.5 give 225. Ninety kilograms and 30 minutes at 2.5 give 112.5, 113 on the page. Seventy-five kilograms, 45 minutes, and 4 MET give 225, the same as a longer session at a lower mass by another path. Fifty-five kilograms, 20 minutes, and 2.3 MET give 42.

Hatha 2.3 and power 4 are two rungs, not one bag. A gentler vinyasa may sit nearer 2.5. A hot room and work without pauses change how it feels, not this product from three labels. Savasana counts if you were on the mat in those minutes. The formula does not cut rest.

The gym next door starts at 5 MET. A walk at 3.5 can sit above hatha. Optional Mifflin shows a TDEE percent with a full profile. Session kcal still come from MET, mass, and minutes. Daily deficit and TDEE are other cards.

The US switch converts pounds with 0.453592. Mass and minutes need values before 175 can appear. Type 70, 60, leave 2.5 MET, click Calculate, and match the example. Treat 175 as the order of an hour at 2.5 MET, not as a daily deficit.

How to use

  1. Type mass and minutes on the mat, including rest, in kilograms or pounds from the units switch.
  2. Pick intensity: 2.3 hatha, 2.5 a typical session, or 4 power / vinyasa.
  3. Click Calculate. 70 kg, 60 min and 2.5 MET give 175 kcal.
  4. Leave the TDEE profile empty when the practice number is enough. A day percent needs a full Mifflin profile.
  5. Pose names and room temperature stay out. The calculator has three MET values, not a pose catalog.

Frequently asked questions

How many kcal at 70 kg, 60 min and 2.5 MET?

175. 2.5 × 70 × 1 = 175. At 4 MET the same hour gives 280.

Are hatha and power yoga the same rung?

No. Hatha is 2.3, a typical session 2.5, power 4. Two intensities, not one bag.

Why do 45 min at 70 kg and 2.5 MET give 131, not 131.25?

The calculator rounds to 1 kcal. 2.5 × 70 × 0.75 = 131.25, so you see 131.

Should I subtract savasana from the minutes?

You do not have to. If you were on the mat, those minutes are part of the time. 20 min at 2.3 MET and 55 kg is 42 kcal.

Is a hot room inside the 175 kcal?

No. MET 2.5 assumes a typical table session. Heat and humidity stay outside the product.

Does 175 kcal replace TDEE or a deficit?

No. 175 is a session. Daily TDEE and deficit live on other cards. A TDEE percent needs a full profile.

Why is the gym next door?

5 MET at the gym sits clearly above 2.5 on the mat. Separate lists keep weights and stretching apart.

Do pounds change the 42 kcal from a short hatha?

Not at the same mass after 0.453592. A different pound number is a different mass.

Should vinyasa always be 4 MET?

The list labels power / vinyasa that way. A gentler vinyasa may sit nearer 2.5. Another MET goes on the calories-burned page.

How much at 60 kg, 90 min and 2.5 MET?

225 kcal. 90 kg and 30 min at 2.5 give 113 after rounding from 112.5.
