How it works
This calculator answers three calendar questions: when the next birthday falls from a chosen as-of date, how many civil days remain, and on which weekday someone was born, plus the weekday of that next birthday. It is not an age calculator in years, months, and days of life. That page counts how old someone is today. Here we do not ask for age. We ask for the next calendar anniversary and the day gap. It is also not a due date calculator. A due date shifts the last menstrual period by about 280 days. A birthday takes the month and day of birth and looks for them in the as-of year or the next year.
A date is a civil day stored as year, month, and day, with no hour. An empty date of birth is an error. We do not guess a birthday. An empty as-of field takes today from this device clock. If the as-of month and day fall after the birthday month and day, the next date is in the following year. When the as-of date lands exactly on the birthday, days until it are zero. A date of birth after the as-of date is an error, because that civil day has not happened yet on the calendar.
For 29 February in a non-leap year, the next birthday lands on 28 February, not 1 March. That is a common civil convention, because 29 February does not exist then. In a leap year, 29 February stays 29 February. The day gap subtracts calendar days, not hours, so a March clock change does not shrink a weekend in this count. Saturday and a public holiday enter the same way as Monday.
The metric or US switch in the header converts nothing, because there are no meters and no miles here. The currency symbol multiplies nothing, because there is no pay rate. The result stays a date, a day count, and weekday names. The examples below insert fixed date pairs so the result does not jump after midnight.

Does the unit switch or the currency change days until the birthday?
No. Civil days are not meters and not an amount of money. The header formats other calculators. Here the result stays a date, a day count, and weekday names.
What does zero days until the next birthday mean?
The as-of date falls on the same month and day as the birthday, so the next date is that day. Tomorrow the same pair yields a new count if the as-of date comes from the clock.
Why can the birth weekday and the next-birthday weekday differ?
Because they fall in different calendar years. 18 August 1995 is a Friday, and 18 August 2026 is a Tuesday. The card shows both so you do not mix the birth weekday with the next birthday weekday.
Does a March clock change shrink the weekend in this day count?
No. We count civil days, not hours on a clock. The night the hands jump does not remove Saturday from the gap until the birthday.
