Example 1
- Sugar: 40 g
- Fat: 15 g
295 kcal
40 g sugar and 15 g fat gives 295 kcal.
Type sugar grams and fat grams from one serving. The calculator computes 4 times sugar plus 9 times fat. Forty grams and 15 g is 295 kcal.
kcal = 4 × sugar g + 9 × fat g. TDEE is on the TDEE calculator. Net carbs are on the net carbs calculator.
Sugars (g), Fat (g), Weight (kg) and Height (cm). kcal from sugar and fat shows up here.
This calculator prices a serving with Atwater constants. Forty grams of sugar is 160 kcal, fifteen grams of fat is 135, together 295. Twenty-five and 10 give 190. Fifty and 20 give 380. Twelve and 8 give 120. Forty-five and 25 give 405. Twenty-two and 9 give 169. Fiber is not subtracted. Protein from the serving does not enter.
People want TDEE from a label. TDEE is Mifflin times PAL for a day, another calculator. Here you only have 4 and 9. Carbs in the diet start from a kcal percent and divide by 4, the other direction. Net subtracts fiber from carb grams, with no multiply. Saturated fat takes a daily percent and divides by 9. Here fat is serving grams, any fat, not only saturated.
An optional profile of mass, height, age, sex, and PAL shows TDEE and the percent of that day this serving is, plus the 4 versus 9 split. The 295 kcal themselves do not need a body weight. You can leave the block empty. The US switch converts pounds only in the profile. A gram of sugar and a gram of fat stay grams.
Typed 0 sugar and 20 g of fat give 180 kcal. Thirty grams of sugar and 0 fat give 120 kcal. Typed 0 is zero. An empty field does not stand in for zero and does not price the serving. The calculator needs both masses, even when one of them is zero.
Treat 295 kcal as a label exercise for class, not as daily energy need and not as a finding. Type 40 and 15, click Calculate, and check 295. Then try 0 and 20 to see 180 from fat alone. Sugars: Grams of sugars from the label, times 4.
40 g alone would be 160 kcal; with 15 g fat you add 135.
kcal = 4 × gsugar + 9 × gfat
Not TDEE and not net carbs.
One serving is 4 times sugar grams plus 9 times fat grams. Forty grams of sugar and 15 g of fat is 295 kcal.
295 kcal
40 g sugar and 15 g fat gives 295 kcal.
190 kcal
25 and 10 gives 190 kcal.
380 kcal
50 and 20 gives 380 kcal.
120 kcal
12 and 8 gives 120 kcal.
180 kcal
0 sugar and 20 g fat gives 180 kcal.
120 kcal
30 g sugar and 0 fat gives 120 kcal.
405 kcal
45 and 25 gives 405 kcal.
169 kcal
22 and 9 gives 169 kcal.
295, because 4 × 40 = 160 and 9 × 15 = 135. 25 g and 10 g give 190.
No. 50 and 20 give 380 kcal from a serving. TDEE is Mifflin times PAL on another calculator.
No. Net subtracts fiber from carb grams on a separate page. The calculator multiplies sugar by 4.
180 kcal, because 9 × 20. Typed 0 is zero. An empty field does not stand in for zero.
120 kcal in both pairs. Together 4 × 12 + 9 × 8, or 4 × 30 alone.
Not the sum itself. The profile adds TDEE and a serving percent. 4 × 40 + 9 × 15 stays 295.
Saturated starts from a daily percent and divides by 9. Here fat is serving grams, any fat.
405 kcal and 169 kcal. Same constants: 4 kcal/g sugar and 9 kcal/g fat.
No. Pounds apply to body mass in the profile. A serving gram stays a gram.
It is an Atwater sum on paper. The calculator does not make a diagnosis and does not replace TDEE.
The calculator multiplies sugar × 4 and fat × 9. This is Atwater arithmetic, not a meal plan.
